Here are the steps to follow to board the Bella Desgagnés, departing from Rimouski on Monday.

Embarquement

What you need to know:

  • If the ship on schedule, you are expected at 5 PM.
  • Access to our installations on the dock is via Avenue du Quai, at the port of Rimouski, along Route 132.
  • Our parking lot is located inside the secure fenced-in area, near the ship.
    • Signs on the dock will guide you to the parking lot.
    • Pay attention, there is a ferry from Rimouski to Forestville, do not get mixed-up with this other service.
  • Boarding passes are issued at the harbor master’s office, near the parking lot, inside the passenger area.
  • The harbor master’s office includes tables, coffee, tea, and a restroom.
  • The dining room and cafeteria are not open at departure, so you can have lunch while waiting on the dock or once you are on board.
  • The entire procedure after the parking lot opens takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes. It means that on schedule, the boarding process will be completed by 6:15 PM.

Here is the standard boarding procedure:

  1. If you are arriving by car, you will be asked to wait in line until the parking lot opens, which is normally at 5 p.m.
  2. When the passenger parking gate opens, take a parking space on the left.
  3. Leave your luggage in the car and go to the port house (blue house) to check in.
  4. You will need one piece of identification per person, in accordance with Transport Canada standards.
  5. An attendant will explain your boarding pass to you.
  6. If you have bicycles, this is the time to put them in the container provided for this purpose.
  7. After receiving instructions about your boarding pass, you will be divided into three groups.
  8. A Relais Nordik representative will call groups 1, 2, and 3 in turn. This is when you should retrieve your luggage.
  9. Be sure to roll up your car windows and lock the doors.
  10. You will receive a welcome message.
  11. You will be responsible for handling your luggage to your cabin, however, we have two luggage carts available for people with reduced mobility or for suitcases without wheels.
  12. A steward responsible for welcoming guests on board will come to collect groups 1, 2, and 3 in sequence to proceed with boarding.
  13. Your boarding pass will be required to board.
  14. Once inside the Bella Desgagnés, you will be given your cabin card.
  15. You will be invited to a full presentation by the Chief Passenger Service Officer (CSP) on deck 8.
