Prepare well for your cruise aboard the Bella Desgagnés

What to bring on your trip

  • Each passenger is entitled to a maximum of 20kg of personal effects.
  • Excess will be charged as excess baggage.
  • Remember to be able to roll your suitcase from the parking lot to your cabin.
  • Baggage must be of a size allowing it to be stored easily in the cabins or in the lockers ($) provided for this purpose or under the seat of the passenger.
  • It is forbidden to bring alcoholic beverages or perishable food, with the exception of items considered essential for young children.
  • Goods other than personal effects including seafood and game must be transported according to our procedure for transporting goods.

Camping gear is not accepted as personal baggage and must be checked in advance according to our procedures for transporting goods, with the exception of passengers traveling to Anticosti Island. In this case, customers can benefit from a fixed rate when booking the transport of the vehicle.

In order to be able to explore a little further, it is possible to bring your bike (additional cost).

We make available a container for transporting bicycles, which will be dropped off at the some layover. This option is not offered all of our season. From, June to September we have less places available for bikes than May and October.

Important note: The bike container will not be available in Harrington Harbour for technical reasons. You will visit this municipality on foot. The container will only be available on daytime stops for security reasons.

For electric bikes, you can remove the battery and charge it in your cabin.

Watercraft such as canoes and kayaks are not accepted as personal baggage and must be checked in accordance with our cargo procedures.

  • The Bella Desgagnés has a kennel to transport your pet.

  • Animals are not allowed in the passenger sections of the ship (interior and exterior) but you may bring them along during stopovers with the exception of Anticosti Island (including the Port-Menier wharf).

  • You are responsible for feeding your pet and cleaning the cage during your stay.

  • Don’t forget to bring what you need for nausea, as we can’t sell or give out medication on board. Several solutions are available in tablet, syrup or accessory form (bracelet, glasses, etc.).

  • Consult a pharmacist or doctor for stronger tablets. There are, for example, Gravols without prescription and Gravols with prescription.

  • Your cabin has only one standard power socket. However, you can take along a multi-outlet extension lead to add sockets for charging your phone and plugging in a sleep apnea machine, for example.

It is not prohibited to bring a drone on board for use during stopovers, but we do not recommend it. In fact, there are several laws governing its use that make it complicated. For example, each stopover has an airport, so each area is off-limits for flying. Furthermore, the Marine Mammal Protection Act prohibits you from getting too close to these animals. Additionally, we do not allow filming too close to the ship, as it interferes with our operations.

Ultimately, we recommend using a good camera instead. Since the ship is eight stories tall, you already have a higher vantage point, which makes using a drone unnecessary.
